“These images were created in Vancouver, Canada, and are part of an ongoing
project titled “Be/longing.” The work encompasses photographs and text, and
stems from my interest in issues of movement, belonging and loss. Here is an
excerpt of the writing from this project:
At noon, the pale sun stands still;
I leave behind white walls,
polished floors, stale thoughts,
sounds of sledgehammers,
and head for the woods.
The trees let me stay in their midst,
and I, in turn, make myself
intangible in the mist.
An imperfect circle in the canopy
creates a luminous shaft:
Lightness, brightness, rightness.”
