President’ s Letter cont’ d
As we welcome new leadership, I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing Board Members for their dedication, service, and commitment to Alaska CHARR. Serving on the Board requires a significant investment of time, energy, and passion, and our association is stronger because of their willingness to lead, share their expertise, and advocate for Alaska ' s hospitality industry. On behalf of our membership, thank you for your contributions and the lasting impact you have made on Alaska CHARR. We are grateful for your service and look forward to your continued involvement in the association for years to come.
And now we turn toward the upcoming legislative session, I want to leave you with one important message:
WE NEED YOUR VOICE.
Alaska CHARR ' s top priority remains Dram Shop Reform. The rising cost and availability of liquor liability insurance continues to impact businesses across Alaska, and meaningful reform will only happen if legislators hear directly from the people affected.
As President & CEO, I can testify, meet with lawmakers, and advocate on behalf of the industry. But what legislators really want to hear are the stories from business owners, operators, managers, and employees. They want to know how these issues are affecting jobs, investment, and the ability to do business in their communities.
That ' s why I ' m asking you to get involved. Join our coalition. Participate in advocacy efforts. Reach out to us if you ' re willing to speak with lawmakers. When the Legislature convenes, we need to flood Juneau with the voices of Alaska ' s hospitality industry. No one can tell your story better than you can. Thank you for your continued support of Alaska CHARR. Whether you attended convention, volunteered on a committee, sponsored an event, took a TAP class, or simply continue to support this association through your membership, you are helping strengthen our industry every day.
I look forward to working alongside you as we tackle the challenges ahead and continue creating opportunities for hospitality businesses throughout Alaska.
Talk soon,
BreeAnna K Erickson President & CEO, Alaska CHARR
