REGIONAL EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR
I started working in hospitality at Loews Hotels in Orlando six years ago, and somehow that led me all the way to Alaska. I’ ve spent the last three years at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, and it has really felt like home. I love the fast pace, solving challenges, seeing guests enjoy their experience, and the fact that every day is different.
I’ ve really enjoyed becoming part of the Mat-Su community and meeting so many great people along the way. Outside of work, I love to travel and am usually thinking about where I’ m going next
MAT-SU
Amy Lynn Brown is a former public school educator who spent a little over a decade in education before deciding to venture into the hospitality industry and expand her passion for connecting with and serving others. Today, she brings her background in teaching, communication, and leadership to the guest experience field, where she is passionate about creating meaningful experiences for visitors. Amy loves meeting people from all walks of life and believes that every interaction is an opportunity to make someone’ s day a little brighter. She lives by the words of the late Dolly Parton:“ If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.” Whether working with guests or supporting her team, Amy is always looking for ways to improve the guest experience and make people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Outside of work, Amy is a proud mother of four grown children and grandmother to eight, with two more grandchildren on the way. She enjoys spending time with her family, exploring Alaska, and embracing the many people and experiences that make life special.
