The home of Trophex sees the
New NHS Nightingale Hospital
in Birmingham Open
The NHS Nightingale
Hospital Birmingham has
been officially opened
by His Royal Highness
The Duke of Cambridge,
providing hundreds more
beds for Covid-19 patients,
if local services need them.
The new facility was constructed within eight
days inside the National Exhibition Centre (NEC)
in Birmingham, the home of Trophex – a trade
show for the trophy, awards, engraving and
personalisation industry. It will initially provide
up to 500 beds for general medical COVID-19
patients from across the Midlands, allowing
existing hospitals and their expert clinical teams
to focus on those who need intensive care.
Appearing via video link, as well as Health
Secretary Matt Hancock, West Midlands Mayor
Andy Street and NHS Chief Executive Sir Simon
Stevens, The Duke of Cambridge, praised all those
involved in setting up the new hospital, which
will be run by University Hospitals Birmingham
NHS Foundation Trust. If required a second stake
expansion could see the new hospital provide
support for 2,000 Covid-19 patients.
The construction involved members of the armed
forces, many of whom are based at the Royal
Centre for Defence Medicine within the Queen
Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, which is also
run by UHB.
The new facility is one of seven Nightingale
hospitals to be set up around the country as part
of a massive NHS effort to respond to the greatest
global health emergency in more than a century. current business relationships. The show will create

Trophex is looking forward to returning
to the NEC sporting a face lift for 2021 Dates for Trophex in 2021 are currently being
negotiated with the NEC. There are exciting plans

later this year, but the main focus will be working

personalisation industry back on track.
2021 is the year of opportunity for all industries.
After the world being on lock down for such an
extended period of time during 2020 due to
the Covid-19 pandemic, the economy of every
country will be working full steam ahead to get
back on track. 2021 will be the year where new
growth is the global target and through working
together this could be achieved.
One opportunity that will be available to the
trophy, awards, engraving and personalisation
industry to help get back on track will be trade
shows. The organisers of Trophex are very
