“Pay It Forward” is when you do something very helpful for three other people, they’ll ask you how they can pay you back or show their side of kindness to you. All you need to say is to “pay it forward” to three other people you may not know or people you know personally to spread the goodness around the community. If they accomplish their side of helping people nine more people, they will have to do it to twenty-seven other people and that is how the chain starts getting longer and wider. Afterwards you’ll be spreading good around to eighty-one people, then two hundred forty-three, then seven hundred twenty-nine, and even big as two thousand one hundred eighty-seven people! Just donating a few mittens to Siloam Mission can be as helpful as giving someone a house. Remember, anything nice or helpful can brighten someone’s day or inspire them to do the same.

Pay It Forward

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?

My act of kindness was shoveling the sidewalks around my house to help create a walk-way for my family and neighbours because no-one likes having snow go into their shoes and getting their socks wet everytime they have to get to their destination. So I decided to shovel all the snow for them to give them an idea that anyone who has good in them can show it through their actions and express this to other people and hopefully give them an idea of sharing the goodness to other people.

Why did you choose this activity?

I chose to do this activity because I know how it feels getting snow in your shoes and it’s just as painful as getting a frostbite. The pain gets to the point where a single toe movement stings like someone is repeatedly slapping it.

Who did you help?

I helped my neighbours and family and for the people who had to experience the pain in their feet from having snow go into their socks or shoes.

What Materials did you use?

All I needed for the act of kindness was a warm jacket, mitts, a camera, and a shovel to help my community.

When did you do you act of kindness?

I did my act of kindness over the winter break when I had spare time just to make it easier for everyone to walk on the sidewalks.
