The mission of the History Department is to provide our students with the necessary basic skills and knowledge to become good citizens and to be successful in college. Our overall objective is to improve our students’ reading, writing, and thinking skills as they study the major historical figures, events, and ideas, which have influenced our world.
The Math Department at St. Benedict’ s Prep aims to prepare each of our students for the rigors of a college math curriculum. We begin our pursuit of this goal by focusing our efforts on developing a solid foundation upon which each student can build his future mathematical inquiry. We follow a traditional Algebra- Geometry-Algebra2 / Precalculus- Calculus curriculum that spirals topics forward through the sequence in order to provide our students with an opportunity to master them. In addition, we have established a rigorous, vertically-articulated curriculum that, when combined with differentiated approaches to meet the needs of each student, provides our students ample challenges along with the requisite support needed to meet those challenges successfully.
