Streakbusters Heartbroken
SBP National Team breaks St. Anthony’ s 83-win streak, then breaks Findlay Prep’ s 54-win streak, but lose in a final-seconds heartbreaker at ESPN National Invitational
We will let the basketball team’ s record speak for itself. The record is practically unbeaten, especially when highlighted by the historic win against St. Anthony( Jersey City) in front of the crowd at the Prudential Center during the Newark National Invitational. The Graybees lost only one game( against Blair) during the regular season, and they avenged that loss with a 46 – point win over Blair during the
Prep Championship and retained the State Prep trophy. Injuries coming in to the ESPN National High School Invitational only motivated the team, and they defeated LaLumiere( IN) in the quarterfinals. The Graybees ended Findlay Prep’ s 54-game win streak with a score of 60-57 in the semifinals. The Team squandered a double-digit lead in the 3rd Quarter. With seconds remaining, the Graybees took a 1-point lead, but lost when Montverde made a 3-pointer.
