Vocation Awareness Day inspired by their example
Vocation Awareness Day
The Annual Vocation Awareness Day was held this year on October 23, with guest speaker Fr. John Gabriel, who is the Director of Vocations and Director of Emmaus House for the Archdiocese of Newark. Several clergy and religious came to be part of the annual event that was organized by Br. Patrick, Director of Vocations for Newark Abbey, with the help of students from the Fishers of Men group. Several St. Benedict’ s students spoke during the presentation in the auditorium, including Brandon Ocampo, Brian Lorenzo, Peter Santiago, and Jaime Merlano. Jaime gave one of the most inspiring messages, when he spoke about his experiences in Colombia and how he found his way to now be a seminarian at the Redemptorist Mater Seminary in Kearny. Following the presentation, the students spent some time in the Reception Center speaking with the invited guests about their vocations.
