YOUR FUTURE, YOUR WAY!
HI, I’ M MILLIE!
I’ M 19( NEARLY 20!) AND, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I STARTED WORKING FOR THE COMPANY BEHIND TEES SKILLS WHEN I WAS JUST 16.
Leaving school was scary. I knew the classroom wasn’ t really for me, but I wasn’ t sure what my future looked like.
My first apprenticeship didn’ t work out. It knocked my confidence, but I refused to give up.
Thankfully, I found a new opportunity with Resolution Media and Publishing, combining working in a busy office with studying at Middlesbrough College.
I’ ve gone from being a shy teenager to someone who regularly meets business leaders and helps organise major events. And I’ ve discovered just how many amazing opportunities exist right here on Teesside.
If you’ re wondering what your future holds or, like I once did, what opportunities are even out there, you’ re in the right place! This issue of Tees Skills is packed with tips, information and inspiration to help you find your way.
Three distinctions, a permanent |
job and a Middlesbrough College Apprentice of the Year award later, I can safely say it was the best decision I ever made! |
My advice? Don’ t panic if you haven’ t got everything figured out.
Everyone’ s journey is different, and setbacks don’ t have to define you.
