CASSIE’ S
LAYING DOWN
THE LAW
Law life – Cassie Woodier is an apprentice solicitor with Muckle.
THINK YOU NEED TO GO TO UNIVERSITY FULL- TIME TO BECOME A SOLICITOR? THINK AGAIN!
Meet 20-year-old Cassie Woodier, who’ s proving there’ s another way to build a career in law.
After completing her A-levels at Yarm School, Cassie joined the Teesside office of law firm Muckle in 2024 as an apprentice solicitor.
That means she’ s gaining valuable experience in a real workplace while studying towards her qualifications, earning a salary along the way.
And she’ s certainly not wasting the opportunity!
Cassie initially worked in Muckle’ s private client team, helping with legal matters including wills, inheritance and managing people’ s estates.
Now she’ s part of the firm’ s sport, education and charities team, helping organisations navigate everything from legal regulations to the rules governing how they’ re run.
But Cassie’ s ambitions don’ t stop at the office door.
She’ s already earned a place on her university’ s honour roll for her academic achievements, proving she’ s just as committed to her studies as her career.
And when she’ s not working or studying, she’ s busy making a difference in her community.
Cassie has helped organise a Christmas Toy Drive for Teesside Charity and has taken on the challenge of the Great North Run to raise funds for Teesside Hospice.
As if that wasn’ t enough, she’ s also working towards becoming a qualified Pilates instructor!
So what’ s the lesson from Cassie’ s story?
You don’ t have to choose between earning, learning and following your passions. An apprenticeship can open doors to a professional career while giving you the chance to gain experience, develop new skills and make a difference.
AND WHO SAYS YOU CAN’ T HAVE MORE THAN ONE AMBITION?
