JOEL ' S STORY
Joel has embarked on an STFC apprenticeship after completing his A-levels in Stockton. Now training as a health & safety technician, he combines practical health and safety work with digital skills development, helping to improve safety protocol across the facility.
“ I have gained real hands-on experience and skills alongside earning a qualification,” says Joel.
“ My apprenticeship is much more rewarding than what university would have been for me, and I feel very lucky to be a part of such a great team.”
BETH ' S STORY
Beth went to college in Guisborough and joined the lab as an apprentice, but now supports world-leading dark matter detection projects through her work in the lab’ s screening facility.
“ Learning hands-on skills has set me up for a long, technical career,” says Beth.
“ I’ m glad I was able to grow and develop myself while staying in the area.”
MORE THAN JUST SCIENCE
