INVESTING IN PEOPLE

Paralloy Group recognises that developing the next generation of manufacturing talent requires more than simply bringing apprentices into the business.
Paralloy works closely with schools and colleges across the region to introduce young people to the opportunities available within manufacturing and engineering.
This includes welcoming school groups to its foundry operations, where students can see first-hand how materials are transformed into highly engineered components and gain an insight into the range of careers available within the industry.
The group’ s teams also visit colleges to speak directly with student about careers in manufacturing, engineering and the wider business- helping young people understand that the sector offers opportunities well beyond the traditional production roles.
“ We want young people to see Paralloy Group as a company where they build their career,” says HR director Ian Grimes.
“ Bringing students into our facilities and speaking to them in colleges gives us an opportunity to show them what happens behind the scenes and, importantly, the breadth of careers available.”
The commitment doesn’ t stop once someone joins Paralloy Group.
For individuals who demonstrate the drive and ambition to progress, the group also supports further education and professional development, helping employees gain additional qualification and skills that can support their longterm career aspirations.
This approach creates a career pathway that can evolve with the individual, from an initial introduction to manufacturing at school or college, through an apprenticeship or entry level role, and onwards into further education, specialist training and more senior positions.
It is an approach designed not only to attract the next generation of talent, but to give people the support and opportunities they need to build a long-term future within the industry.
