CF knows that stepping into the workplace at 16 can be overwhelming as well as exciting. That’ s why they provide plenty of support, so no-one feels out of their depth.
Supervisors: they plan, oversee and support apprentices day-to-day. The first person to turn to for anything.
Assessor: they monitor and review apprentices’ learning to make sure they meet the required knowledge, skills and behaviour standards, provide feedback and support with final assessments.
Mentors: they offer peer-to-peer support, with the right colleague chosen for the right task. This might be a former apprentice who’ s been in your shoes or one of the most experienced, longest-standing members of the team.
And don’ t forget that apprentices still spend 20 % of their time doing formal study. This means college lecturers offer their continued support as well.
