An Evening with Brian Blessed will combine anecdotes from his illustrious acting career with tales of his adventuring. The show will see the OBE-honoured actor recounting stories from his numerous film and TV appearances from Flash Gordon to Black Adder and I Claudius to Z Cars. And he will also be talking about his three attempts to climb Everest without oxygen; his expedition to the jungles of Venezuela, his trek to the North Pole and his 800 hours of space training in Russia. Bell was an archaeologist, diplomat, linguist, writer and mountaineer who was a key figure in the discussions that led to the creation of Iraq following the defeat of the Ottoman Empire.
