07 BONJOUR,
BISTROT PIERRE!
Bistrot Pierre has brought
a touch of Gallic flair to
Middlesbrough’s bustling food
quarter...
Welcome to the Winter
2017 issue of Tees Life –
for everyone who loves
life on Teesside!
Y
ou can take the man out of
Middlesbrough – but you can’t take
Middlesbrough out of the man.
Never could a truer word be written
about our cover star Mackenzie Thorpe, the
renowned artist who hails from Teesside.
We spoke to Mackenzie when he was
back in the area recently and, as ever, the
proud Teessider spoke very fondly about his
upbringing in central Boro and his love for
our area.
Mackenzie also talks openly, and for the
first time publicly, about his recent, successful
battle with bowel cancer.
In this issue we also talk to Teesside’s
latest rowing star Beth Bryan, winner of
bronze medals as part of the quadruple
sculls team in both the European and World
Championships in her first season competing
at a senior level.
And we interview Tees-based businessman
Raj Singh about what he loves most about life
on Teesside.
Meanwhile, Tees fashion icon Steve
Cochrane talks to us exclusively about
the 35th anniversary of his celebrated
Middlesbrough store, Psyche.
And another well-known Teessider, Mike
Heagney, walks us around his glorious
Guisborough garden, which is undeniably
one of the finest in the region.
We have lots of other features covering a
range of subjects including motors, property
and homes, eating out, fashion and finance.
We even have a special festive drink recipe
for you to try, courtesy of our partners The
Nuthatch.
Tees Life is published quarterly, by our
Middlesbrough-based company Resolution
Media and Publishing, with 7,000 copies
circulated to homes, pubs, restaurants,
hotels and salons across Teesside including
Wynyard, Eaglescliffe, Stokesley, Linthorpe,
Yarm, Ingleby Barwick, Wolviston, Hartburn,
Nunthorpe, Marton and Guisborough.
Our next issue is due out in February 2018.

We hope you enjoy this Winter issue – and
we’ll be back with another edition in the New
Year!
