Fit for purpose: Gary Lumby in the impressive gym at his Wynyard home. Luxury living Gary Lumby gives Tees Life a tour of his stunning six-bed Wynyard home... I WO RD S : DAV E A L L A N t’s hard to argue with Gary Lumby when he says “It’s got everything you need” as he shows us around his sumptuous six-bedroom home, Red Wynd. Overlooking the pretty third green of Wynyard Golf Club, the mansion that’s home to well-known businessman Gary, his wife Hayley and their Miniature Yorkshire Terrier Henry features four lounges, a snooker room, six bedrooms – four en-suite – and a spiral designer staircase into a gym that would be the envy of many health clubs. “It’s been a great home for us,” says Gary, who works as a non-executive director with 17 companies across Teesside, the North-East and beyond. We completely gutted it.” The greatest result of their work was a striking extension featuring Hayley’s impressive walk-in dressing room that would be the envy of any woman, plus a first floor lounge and balcony. Head downstairs via a designer spiral staircase and you enter perhaps the greatest feature of this great home – a fully-fitted gymnasium, measuring nearly 550 sq ft and boasting floor-to-ceiling views of the garden to three sides with bi-fold doors opening onto a private rear patio and hot tub. “If you haven’t got a hot tub I’d recommend it,” Gary enthuses. “There’s nothing like a glass of wine in the hot tub on a Friday night in a secluded area of the garden. The two of us go in there together and catch up because we’re often
