MOTORING TEES TIME FOR PORSCHE P orsche. The very name conjures up images of arguably the greatest ever sports cars. And now the world- famous motor has been brought to Teesside. Porsche has a deserved reputation for making some of the finest looking cars money can buy. Until now Teessiders interested in the ultimate sports car have had to motor north to Newcastle or south in the direction of Leeds. But all that changed with the opening of the cutting-edge Porsche Centre Teesside on Preston Park. Eight months of redevelopment have culiminated in a 35,707 sq ft showroom glistening with new and pre-loved Porsches. There’s capacity for 15 new motors and no fewer than 40 Porsche- approved pre-owned vehicles. The new Porsche showroom on Concorde Way, near Stockton, is a turbo-charged dream. From the classic 911 Carrera and the powerful new 911 GT2 RS to the dazzling 718 Cayman, from the Panamera that combines the performance of a thoroughbred sports car with the comfort of a saloon, to the definitive SUV, the Cayenne. The new facility is operated by JCT600, the privately-owned franchise with no fewer than 50 dealerships between Boston to the south and Newcastle to the north. A major investment in the Porsche brand - and the Teesside community – the centre is the newest in the 37-strong Porsche Centre Network in the UK and Ireland. The centre offers the full range of Porsche services, including new and Porsche- approved pre-owned sales, servicing, parts, a service loan fleet and a full range of Porsche demonstrators. Local delivery and collection are designed to ensure any servicing or repairs are conducted with minimal inconvenience to customers. “As one of the most prestigious marques in the world, we’re proud of our long- established relationship with Porsche,” says John Tordoff, chief executive of JCT600. “Having spent two years searching for the right site on Teesside in which to showcase these stunning sports cars, we’re pleased to have been able to find this high-profile, accessible location which will complement our Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield Porsche centres. “The creation of such a prestigious business has also had many benefits for the region, creating around 20 new jobs already and with more likely as the business grows.” Ross Jameson, the centre principal, adds: “Porsche Centre Teesside is one of the most impressive and advanced Porsche centres in Europe.
