MOTORING
TEES TIME FOR PORSCHE
P
orsche. The very name conjures up
images of arguably the greatest ever
sports cars. And now the world-
famous motor has been brought to Teesside.
Porsche has a deserved reputation for
making some of the finest looking cars
money can buy. Until now Teessiders
interested in the ultimate sports car have had
to motor north to Newcastle or south in the
direction of Leeds.
But all that changed with the opening
of the cutting-edge Porsche Centre
Teesside on Preston Park. Eight months of
redevelopment have culiminated in a 35,707
sq ft showroom glistening with new and
pre-loved Porsches. There’s capacity for 15
new motors and no fewer than 40 Porsche-
approved pre-owned vehicles.
The new Porsche showroom on Concorde
Way, near Stockton, is a turbo-charged
dream. From the classic 911 Carrera and
the powerful new 911 GT2 RS to the
dazzling 718 Cayman, from the Panamera
that combines the performance of a
thoroughbred sports car with the comfort of
a saloon, to the definitive SUV, the Cayenne.
The new facility is operated by JCT600,
the privately-owned franchise with no fewer
than 50 dealerships between Boston to the
south and Newcastle to the north.
A major investment in the Porsche brand
- and the Teesside community – the centre is
the newest in the 37-strong Porsche Centre
Network in the UK and Ireland.
The centre offers the full range of Porsche
services, including new and Porsche-
approved pre-owned sales, servicing, parts, a
service loan fleet and a full range of Porsche
demonstrators.
Local delivery and collection are designed
to ensure any servicing or repairs are
conducted with minimal inconvenience to
customers.
“As one of the most prestigious marques
in the world, we’re proud of our long-
established relationship with Porsche,” says
John Tordoff, chief executive of JCT600.
“Having spent two years searching for the
right site on Teesside in which to showcase
these stunning sports cars, we’re pleased
to have been able to find this high-profile,
accessible location which will complement
our Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield Porsche
centres.
“The creation of such a prestigious
business has also had many benefits for the
region, creating around 20 new jobs already
and with more likely as the business grows.”
Ross Jameson, the centre principal, adds:
“Porsche Centre Teesside is one of the most
impressive and advanced Porsche centres in
Europe. Its stunning look and state-of-the-
art facilities are exemplary of Porsche’s brand
and dedication to customer service.
“We boast the only two-storey viewing
area in the Porsche network for our Direct
Dialogue Bay, which really is an exceptional
experience for our customers.
“My team and I are thrilled to be able
to showcase Porsche to Teesside and the
surrounding areas, and look forward to
welcoming customers into our new home
for all their Porsche requirements - whether
that’s sales, servicing or parts.”
