Serving the Teesside Business Community | 37 a P50 extinguisher, they have no further payments for 10 years and at the end of the term, the P50 is refurbished and is good for another decade.
A number of businesses are already making huge savings. One, a warehouse company, is forecast to save £ 30,000 over a 10-year period, while an Academy in the region expects to save around £ 15,000 thanks to the P50.
Some of the other key features of the P50 stem from the unique manufacturing process, performed in Norfolk, where mass investment and research has went into the development of the P50, which is now starting to show the benefits of doing so.
First, the body or sleeve of the P50 is a non-corrosive composite material, which is 100 % recyclable, the entire extinguisher is approved and certified to EN3 and also CE marked in accordance with the PED.
The strong Kevlar weave protecting the inner containment mechanisms make it as strong – if not stronger – than any other extinguisher on the market. It has passed all appropriate fire extinguisher tests.
The main reason for many businesses of different sizes and sectors now changing over to the P50 is the financial efficiencies they can make. No longer do they need to have an external service technician come into the business and perform replacements of parts on the extinguisher and because the P50 carries a Fire rating of 27A / 183B, the amount of extinguishers in almost all the premises we have visited have been able to be reduced, by approximately 30 % on average.
In particular, VFS has been able to provide a reduction in Powder and CO2 type extinguishers in business premises, which ultimately helps businesses become more carbon neutral.
VFS has already worked with a host of firms in the region, including Komatsu, Eldon Gardens, Mecaplast and GlaxoSmithKline, where massive savings of their fire protection products have now been made.
VFS director and area manager Dominic Brown said:“ We’ re also in advanced discussions with some of the best known brands in the region and the UK.
“ But it’ s not just the large companies that we deal with. We visited a church in the North East where we provided a free audit, a cost-saving analysis and reduced their overall fire extinguisher provision by half.
“ VFS is synonymous with its customers as a brand that can be trusted to trade ethically and to ensure the customer gets value for money on anything we provide.
“ We won’ t sell a product or service a customer doesn’ t want or need, we take careful consideration from experienced and qualified staff to provide the best advice possible.”
