A
pplied Integration are making further
strides towards securing their
place as leaders in the field of ‘lean
manufacturing’ techniques.
Teesside Manufacturing Award-winners in
the 2015 North East Business Awards, the
panel builders have embarked upon Business
Excellence and Manufacturing Excellence
reviews with external consultants MAS as
they strive to make further improvements
to their established lean manufacturing
environment.
Director Lee Raywood promises that
2016 will see the proud Teesside firm make
further improvements to what are already
outstanding, class-leading processes, all
designed to offer further benefits to the
company’s customers.
“By utilising lean manufacturing
techniques, our goals are to simply create
more value for customers with fewer
resources and waste,” said Raywood. “We
fully understands customer value and focus
our key processes on ensuring that we
continuously improve manufacturing
“The ultimate goal is to provide the best
possible value to the customer through tried
and tested processes that have little or zero
waste. Our lean processes ensure that the
correct equipment is always available on time
and is correctly kitted to the manufacturing
team.
“This allows us to provide an immediate
response to any changes our customers
request. All panels are provided with a
complete bill of materials which is controlled
by our automated MRP/ERP stock control
software. Purchased components are
inspected upon delivery, assigned and then
kitted to the relevant projects. It’s a detailed
process that ensures that all components are
ready and available for the build.”
Applied Integration’s dedication to
manufacturing excellence has not gone
unnoticed, having won the Manufacturing
category in last year’s North East Business
Awards, an annual celebration of the most
innovative and inspiring businesses across
the entire region.
Raywood commented: “The purpose of
the Manufacturing award is to recognise
and highlight companies demonstrating
Manufacturing excellence. The judges based
their decision on all aspects of company
performance relating to manufacturing – with
an emphasis on quality
