The college now serves more than
15,000 students, has more than 1,000
apprentices with employers across the
area and employs 950 staff.
Overall turnover has also increased
from £30m to £37m.
Zoe, who grew up in Saltburn and now
lives in North Yorkshire with her husband
and two daughters, said: “It’s a great
position to be in and we will continue to
work with employers across the region to
help tackle unemployment levels that are
still too high and skills shortages in key
employment areas.
“We take our role and obligation to
help resolve these issues very seriously.
However, we are acutely aware that the
amount of money coming into further
education is destined to decline over the
next few years, which means we need
to find ways to do more for less while
maintaining high levels.
“It means we are just like any other
business.
“We are continually challenging
ourselves to secure new markets, to
respond swiftly and flexibly to the needs
of students and employers and we will
continue to look for new ways to help
tackle unemployment and deprivation.”
