Recognition PR sponsors
Best Newcomer category
L
eading North-East communications
agency Recognition PR is
sponsoring the Best Newcomer
category in the 2020 Tees Tech
Awards.
The Darlington-based firm, founded
by high-profile business leader Graham
Robb, boasts an impressive list of
clients based all over the UK.
“Tees Valley is establishing itself
as an innovative hub for technology
businesses, playing its part in helping
the UK’s digital sector become a
cornerstone of the 21st century
economy,” said Graham.
“Digital is not siloed within its own
sector; what it can offer is integral
to the operations of businesses in
every industry. This creates significant
opportunities for our forward-thinking,
creative technology firms.
“The area has made great strides in
creating a digital cluster that can help
attract and retain talented people and
it is important to showcase their talent,
ingenuity and entrepreneurialism.
“The Tees Tech Awards provide the
ideal opportunity to
celebrate the area’s
vibrant and growing
digital sector and we
are proud to be a
sponsor.”
David Dixon from
DigitalCity, co-founders
of the inaugural Tees
Tech Awards, added:
“We’re delighted to
have Recognition PR on
board for the inaugural
Tees Tech Awards.
“The company is
very well respected
regionally as well as nationally and
Graham Robb is a very high-profile
character in our region, so it’s fantastic
to have someone of his standing
involved with the first awards event.
“The response to the idea of an
awards event for the Tees tech
and digital sector has so far been
fantastic, and we’re looking forward to
seeing the quality of entries for all 11
categories.”

Communicate Technology PLC
believe the event can help local digital
businesses raise their profile within the Tees
region – and beyond.
Wynyard-based Communicate
Technology is sponsoring the Tees Tech
Partnership category at the inaugural
awards, which will take place in the autumn.
Communicate Technology, is a specialist
IT, telecoms and cybersecurity company
providing a wide portfolio of services to
clients within the UK and Europe.
Explaining why they decided to sponsor
the awards, Communicate Technology’s
CEO Tony Snaith said: “The tech industry
in Teesside is thriving. However, we don’t
shout about that success enough and when
we heard about the Tees Tech Awards, we
couldn’t believe no one had thought about
it before.
“It’s great that Tees Business has
recognised this gap. For us, supporting the
awards is a no-brainer to help highlight the
business successes in our region and help
their voices get heard more, inside and
outside of Teesside.
“People need to be more digitally aware
these days. Sure, Teesside is infamous
for its history in iron, engineering and
construction of some of the world’s most
iconic structures and spans, but we are
innovative people and to continue being
world leaders, we need to start to think
more digitally. In doing so, we can help the
likes of manufacturing and engineering
companies gain the competitive edge over
the traditional.”
He added: “We felt sponsoring the
collaborative Tees Tech Partnership award
would really support and highlight this
invaluable look to the future. We’re really
excited and interested to read about
companies that are working together
in new ways to succeed in their
industries.”
