FIVE-STAR
CONNECTIVITY
O
ne of the region’s most luxurious
hotel, spa and dining resorts,
Seaham Hall prides itself on a first-
class guest experience. However, when it
came to connectivity, the team found that
internet speed and access needed to keep
up with ever-increasing guest expectations.
While being built on the site of the
formidable Seaham House, dating back to
1791 and with hundreds of years of history
and heritage, Seaham Hall today requires
cutting edge technological solutions to
remain at the forefront of the hospitality
industry.
Following an initial review of the systems
and infrastructure, razorblue were able
to fully grasp the hotel’s challenges and
proposed a future-proofed solution including
new WiFi access points, firewall, and super-
fast fibre leased line.
The full solution was configured and
installed by razorblue in October and the
team at Seaham Hall are already seeing a
significant uplift in technology performance.
razorblue delivers yet again
for a luxury hotel
The upgrade from a standard broadband
line to a super-fast 100mb leased line now
means every part of the hotel, spa and
restaurant enjoys full and fast coverage.
In addition, a next-generation Palo Alto
firewall gives Seaham Hall confidence in
its data security. The segregation between
staff and visitor networks increases security
further still and means both business
and pleasure are fully and independently
serviced.
So whether you are working on your
next big project in the conference suite,
handling the growing number of direct
online bookings or uploading that all-
important Instagram image from the spa, at
Seaham Hall you can rest assured that the
connectivity is big enough, fast enough and
robust enough to meet your needs today
and in the future.
Dan Kitchen, CEO of razorblue, said:
“We’ve worked with many of the region’s
five-star hotels and now almost have a
blueprint solution as we are so familiar with
their requirements. Every service we offer
is bespoke to the client but having in-depth
industry knowledge certainly helps us talk
the right language from the outset.
“Many businesses will be surprised at
how ill-equipped their connectivity is, not
only for guest usage but sometimes, more
importantly, for their own teams trying
to deliver the company objectives. The
demand for high speed, secure access is
huge and the appetite is simply not being
met by standard internet solutions. The
great news is as this technology becomes
more mainstream it doesn’t take long for it
to become affordable and that’s what we
are seeing happen now.”
Seaham Hall’s general manager Nathan
White added: “The experience of our
guests is paramount, and we were keen to
guarantee that every visitor has the internet
access they need. We work hard to ensure
our guests’ needs are met. On a business
level, our internal systems, cybersecurity
and connection between departments and
facilities have been vastly improved.
“As we move towards more and more
direct online bookings, it’s pleasing to know
our technology is capable of taking us into
the next decade and beyond.”
