Yasmin said: “We are absolutely delighted and so grateful to the generosity of those who attended. “Not only have we been given an exceptional platform to break down the barriers for women experiencing abuse in the North-East, but we are immensely grateful and humbled to have raised such an outstanding amount. “The proceeds will be extremely beneficial at this time of year. We will be able to provide emergency packs for people fleeing violence and help to provide a safe and comfortable surrounding for families.” Tees Business co-editor Dave Allan, who along with Martin Walker is a director of the publication’s owners, Resolution Media & Publishing, said: “Yasmin is a leading light in the Tees region and her charity is carrying out such outstanding and challenging work. “The Halo Project is an absolute force for good and we were proud to be associated with and give a further voice to such an important charity.” Publishers team up to launch Wear Business T he creators of Tees Business are branching out to launch a new quarterly publication for the Sunderland and Durham region, Wear Business. Among some really exciting events, Chef Franck Pontais from Koppert Cress will be on hand on Friday, February 7, to showcase plant-based cooking at a vegan night, guest chefs from the Cleveland Tontine, Middleton Lodge and The Forge will present a Taste of the North-East, while Frances Atkins (Yorke Arms) and Ellie Richmond (Fox Hall Inn) will offer a journey through culinary history and the changing fashions of food. The festival opens with an Artisan Food Fair which will showcase delicious food and drink from a wealth of suppliers and producers and the festival will conclude with a glamorous black tie gala dinner. Being a chef, I love the whole festival. I get really excited about meeting new food producers and seeing how they use their products at Rockliffe Hall. The highlight for me will be working with the guest chefs and I’m very much looking forward to linking up with Koppert Cress to showcase plant-based cooking at our Vegan night. It will be a real eye opener for anyone who sees vegan food as boring. Think again!
