tockton-based legal team Jacksons
Law Firm is supporting the inaugural
Tees Tech Awards by sponsoring
one of the categories.
The region’s thriving digital sector will
be celebrated when the Tees Tech Awards
are held in April 2020, in association with
DigitalCity and Middlesbrough Digital.
Organised by Tees Business, the
inaugural Tees Tech Awards will take place
in Wynyard Hall’s Grand Marquee on the
evening of Thursday April 23 next year.
The awards will recognise and celebrate
the organisations and individuals thriving
within the Tees Valley’s fast-growing digital
sector together with the local companies
driving their business through digital
transformation.
Jacksons has agreed to sponsor the Small
Business of the Year category.
Karen Robinson, one of the firm’s
partners and head of business development
and marketing, said: “Jacksons Law Firm
is delighted to be involved in the Tees Tech
Awards and to celebrate the talent we have
working in the tech sector, in the Tees Valley.
“It is fantastic to see the sector thriving
in our part of the region and the exciting
opportunities it has created for people and
businesses alike.
“This part of the region is now being
recognised as a centre of excellence in
tech, and a rival for other areas in the UK.
“We all need to do what we can to
spread that message to the next generation
of Tees Valley tech experts and encourage
them to stay and build a career in their
home territory.”
Amongst the awards presented to
organisations and individuals will be the
inaugural Tees Tech Company of the Year
and Tees Tech Business Leader of the
Year, whilst other categories will recognise
local tech leaders in export, innovation and
partnership.
As well as headline sponsors DigitalCity
and Middlesbrough Digital, Jacksons Law
Firm have joined Tracerco, Communicate,
Punch Robson Solicitors and Baldwins
Group as category sponsors for the Tees
Tech Awards.
Robinson added: “There has been
a significant increase in start-ups and
established businesses from the sector
asking Jacksons for legal advice, whether it
be to protect and fund their ideas, moving
into their first premises or getting the right
contracts in place as their business grows.
“It is reassuring that they are coming to
law firms in this part of the region and not
seeking advice from others based in Leeds
or Newcastle.
Jacksons Law Firm
backs inaugural
Tees Tech Awards
“The tech team at Jacksons is really
looking forward to working with Dave and
Martin from Tees Business, the partners
and other sponsors on what is going to be a
very special event.”
Tees Business co-editor Dave Allan said:
“We’re delighted Jacksons are supporting
what we believe will be an important,
annual event to celebrate the Tees Valley’s
digital sector.
“We keep hearing about the growing
tech industry in our region but we feel not
enough attention is given to the individual
firms that make up the sector, so hopefully
these awards will rectify that.”
Five other category sponsorships are
now being sought for the Tees Tech Awards,
including Digital Transformation Award,
Exporter of the Year, Newcomer of the Year,
Tees Tech for Good, Tees Tech Ambassador
and Tees Tech Rising Star.
Sponsorship packages, which include
a table of table of 10 (worth £750), a
champagne reception, an opportunity to
judge category entries and present category
awards including short speech plus pre and
post-event publicity (print and online), are
priced £3,000 + VAT.
