wins regional award

tockton-based Jacksons Law has been
awarded a top award at this year’s
Northern Law Awards.
Jacksons’ property team was shortlisted
earlier this year in the Team of the Year,
Property (Commercial) category.
The firm was the only law firm with a
base in the Tees Valley to walk away with an
award on the night.
The commercial property team were
presented with Team of the Year Property
award in 2017, making it the only law firm to
have won the property award twice, since
the launch of the Northern Law Awards in
2015.
In 2018, the team was presented with an
award for Property Law Firm of the Year at
the Insider North East Property Awards and
was shortlisted once again for the same
award this year.
In addition, Jacksons was shortlisted in
three other categories at the Northern Law
Awards: Team of the Year Crime/Regulatory,
Team of the Year Property (Residential) and
Law Firm of the Year (Six-plus partners).
Erica Turner, partner and head of
commercial property, said: “We are

again, and to have been given recognition
for all our hard work over the last 12
months.
“We have seen another strong financial
year in the team, which has enabled us

Communicate Technology has been
selected as finalists in the 2019 Cyber
Security Awards.
The Wynyard-based firm has
been shortlisted in the Innovative
Product of the Year – Threat Detection
category of the awards, which
were established in 2014 to reward
the best individuals, teams and
companies within the cyber security
industry. Excellence and innovation
are core themes throughout all
categories.
The national Cyber Security Awards
team reviews the industry, looking for
the best possible applicants.
Second supply chain accolade for Katmex
Fabrication firm Katmex, which has invested
over £1m in expanding its production
capacity, has again been honoured by a
largescale manufacturer.
The Stockton-based firm has been
named Supplier of the Year for the second
year running by Komatsu UK at its annual
supplier conference, attended by delegates
representing its supply chain companies.
Billingham-based water and wastewater
treatment specialist Biochemica has
received a six-figure investment from
NPIF – FW Capital Debt Finance,
managed by FW Capital and part of the
Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund
(NPIF).
Biochemica Water, established by
Teesside-born David Ruddy and his
business partner Dr Timothy Robinson 10
years ago, currently has annual turnover
of £7m and employs more than 80 staff.
Scott Bros boost for
football club
Scott Bros is supporting newly-promoted
Thornaby FC by helping upgrade its
Teesdale Park ground as the club
prepares for life in Division One of the
Northern League.
The Stockton-based haulage and plant
hire firm has cleared and levelled an area
behind the North End goal to create a
150-space parking area – allowing the
club to meet more stringent league
requirements.
