portfolio of successfully-delivered projects,
predominately for the oil and gas and
offshore renewables sectors, which includes
a number of significant export contracts.
Among them was the recent completion
of the production of 21 offshore wind
turbines transition pieces, each weighing
340 tonnes, through its client SteelWind, for
Ørsted’s Hornsea Project One offshore wind
farm.
Scott, who has also been chosen to be
part of the Government’s Exporting is Great
campaign, is very pleased to be recognised
by the Department of International Trade for
the work Wilton carries out in the energy
sector.
The UK energy supply chain, of which
Wilton is proud to be part of, is highly-
regarded by international industry and
has been integral to delivering innovative
solutions and engineering excellence that
has supported operations in the offshore
sectors.
Scott added: “ This award is also
testament to the dedication and
commitment of the team at Wilton, and our
sister company Universal Coatings, which
successfully-completed the significant
Hornsea Project One transition piece

combined with investment in their
comprehensive capabilities has
ensured Durham Lifting can continue to set
the pace within their sector.
Founded in 1996, Durham Lifting provide
a total lifting equipment solution for
companies throughout the North-East and
UK-wide.
They pride themselves on their
conceptual, innovative and creative
thinking, understanding of their client and
industry needs and, most importantly, their
excellence of service.
With over 40 years’ experience in the
design and manufacture of bespoke lifting
and handling equipment, Durham Lifting
have announced they can now offer their
customers an “off the shelf” solution to
their modular spreader beam requirements.
Multi-Sec modular spreader beams
(ranging from one to 1,000 tonnes and
available in lengths up to 30m) provide the
ideal solution for an array of lifting solutions.
Versatile and cost-effective, the
range offers a wide variety of spans,
configurations and capacities to suit your
specific lifting application.
Each assembly consists of a pair of
end units and a pair of drop links, with
interchangeable struts which can be bolted

either lengthen or shorten the beam to suit
the requirements of your specific lift.
Benefits of the Multi-Sec range:
• Cost-effective: Only a small number
of components are required to make up a
variety of spans and configurations.
• Versatile: Multi-Sec can be configured
into virtually any lifting rig to enable the
most complicated of structures to be lifted.
• Storage: Multi-Sec can be dismantled
and stored in a relatively small area, saving
valuable space.
• Handling: Multi-Sec are able to be
handled more easily than conventional fixed
spreader beams.
• Transport: Multi-Sec can be shipped
in component form, therefore a smaller,
more cost effective vehicle can be used for
transportation.
• High lift capacity to size ratio:
Relatively small modular lifting beams can
lift high loads compared with fixed lifting
beam configurations.
Designed and manufactured in the UK
in accordance with relevant standards.
Durham Lifting Multi-Sec modular spreader
assemblies for up to 250Te are in stock and
available for worldwide distribution. Other
sizes are available upon request.
