Serving the Teesside Business Community | 87 / STOCKTON NEWS NETA investing in the future of engineering training The 56-acre, £300m Hampton by Hilton hotel in Stockton forms part of the mixed-use Northshore regeneration scheme, incorporating new offices, homes and leisure facilities near the town centre. #TalkingUpTeesside A bumper intake of students and business delegates has marked a year of success for NETA Training. More than 5,500 delegates have passed through the Stockton training centre’s doors over the last 12 months, while student and apprenticeship numbers have more than tripled. Investment and growth continues to be at the forefront of working life at NETA. It seems the region’s engineering industries are among those reaping the benefits with existing staff and new recruits brushing up on skills most in demand. “At NETA Training we make it a priority to work closely with organisations to ensure we offer what industry needs,” said commercial manager Graham Middleditch. “We’re always looking ahead to ensure we develop the building blocks to enable us to deliver the critical skills training employers and employees need for the future.” Serving the Tees Valley for more than 40 years, NETA specialises in industry-standard vocational skills training for the engineering, process, manufacturing and construction sectors, including health and safety. It delivers commercial and government- funded training as well as engineering apprenticeships. This year’s increase in delegate and student numbers follows significant investment in NETA’s new Lustrum site, welding and electrical facilities, along with planned further investment in core training areas. Middleditch said: “We are excited to see NETA being recognised as an engineering training provider of choice for many companies. We look forward to continuing to build on those partnerships and together working to meet regional skills demands.” For details about training opportunities at NETA call 01642 616936 or visit: www.neta.co.uk Quorn’s world first The world’s biggest meat alternative production facility has officially opened at Quorn Foods’ Belasis site in Billingham.
