Champions of Collaboration Infrastructure solutions business px has celebrated a national award success on the back of turnover increasing to almost £200m. Stockton-based px provides innovative operations management, engineering services and energy management solutions to partners in high hazard, highly regulated industries. The company, which also owns and operates Saltend Chemicals Park on the Humber estuary, received the Energy Industries Council (EIC) Collaboration Award ahead of competitors Wood and Lionweld Kennedy. px was commended for its work in reducing costs and increasing efficiency for its partners at the major sites it manages across the country. The Collaboration Award judges specifically focused on companies who have demonstrated how partnerships can enhance efficiencies, reduce costs and enable new technologies and business development strategies to flourish. Mark Kenrick, CEO of px, said the awards win was “tremendous recognition” for work the px team had put in alongside its partners and clients to support them in their success. He said this commitment to excellence had helped deliver “incredible growth” for px, with turnover increasing from around £10m in 2001 to now be closer to £200m. px also recently broke into the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Fast Track 250, a league table of the UK’s top performing private mid-market companies in terms of sales growth. Kenrick said: “We are delighted to have received the EIC award. It reinforces our belief that the collaborative way in which we operate the assets under our control brings significant benefits to all parties involved - from asset owners and service and infrastructure customers through to our employees and shareholders. “Our partners see the performance of their assets improve significantly as we drive down costs, while improving efficiency and delivering a better financial return, without compromising safety and environmental standards. “Successful collaboration with clients has driven our ability to take on more work, win new business and take on more contracts, which has enabled us to continue to grow – something we have done significantly over the past 17 years.” EIC CEO Stuart Broadley added: “px has proven that working collaboratively can make a real difference to project costs and efficiencies. Its work with the St Fergus Gas Terminal operator in Aberdeen, for example, has led to a world class level of availability and delivered reliability at over 99.9%.” It’s our people that make the difference E: [email protected] T: 01642 623000 pxlimited.com
