prestigious Tees housing developer is the latest company to support the first-ever Tees Businesswomen Awards, in association with Northern Skills Group.
Developments by Joseph Homes is a new company, set up to specialise in highend self-build developments at Wynyard Park.
It recently opened a new £ 1.2m show house for prospective buyers to look around and learn more about their designs
Matt Johnson, development director at Wynyard Park, said:“ We’ re very proud to be one of the sponsors for the first Tees Businesswomen Awards.
“ Women’ s role in business has been quite understated. There have been a lot of misconceptions from previous generations and I think women are now coming to the forefront in business, and this is a great idea to showcase women in business in the Tees Valley area.
“ We think it’ s important firstly to showcase women, and secondly to acknowledge and reward that fact.”
Tees Business co-editor Dave Allan – pictured( left) with Matt Johnson – added:“ We’ re delighted that Developments by Joseph Homes is backing the first-ever business awards event for women in the Tees Valley.
“ They, like us, recognise that many leading businesswomen in the region have gone under the radar for whatever reason and it’ s now time for us to shine a light on them, and to inspire younger females to succeed in business.”
Tees Business is now inviting people to enter for the award categories via the website at teesbusiness. co. uk / awards
Tees Valley Business Compass – Lifelong Inspiration Award

A

major growth hub for the Tees region says it’ s time for women to stand up and take credit, after it became the latest organisation to support the first-ever Tees Businesswomen Awards, in association with Northern Skills Group.
Tees Valley Business Compass( TVBC) is sponsoring the Lifelong Inspiration award for the inaugural event.
TVBC is the local growth hub delivered by BE Group on behalf of Tees Valley Combined Authority.
It helps ambitious businesses realise their growth potential by offering access to a range of practical services, from local business information, assessing growth options through to unlocking finance and funding streams.
The growth hub is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
TVBC marketing and events manager Gemma Walton said:“ We think it’ s very important that we showcase the talent of women in the area.
“ There are some fantastic women out there in some really great positions with various companies, and we feel they don’ t get the recognition they deserve.
“ I think there’ s a need for women to take on responsibility to become role models, but I also think women just get on and do things. They don ' t seem to have the time – they just crack on with what they do – but it ' s important they are recognised.
“ But I actually think it ' s just the Tees Valley way to get on and do things, rather than shout about what they’ ve done.
“ It’ s important for young girls who are up-and-coming to have role models and to see women in engineering, manufacturing, in senior positions and business owners, and we’ re delighted we now have this opportunity to encourage that through the very first Tees Businesswomen Awards.”
Tees Business co-editor Martin Walker added:“ This support from Tees Valley Business Compass is yet another very welcome acknowledgement from one of

the region’ s best-known organisations, so we’ re naturally delighted to have them on board.”
