“First quarter export growth in the North-
East has been robust,” he says. “The value
of exports from the region was £2.88bn,
representing an increase of 11.43% over the
same quarter of the previous year.
“The strength of trade with our main
trading partners and significant growth
in key sectors, such as automobiles and
manufacturing, has made this possible.”
