Engineering expo set to be bigger and better with new venue
The north of England’ s premier engineering and manufacturing showcase is set for its biggest event yet after organisers announced EMCON 2027 will take place at Sunderland’ s Beacon of Light next spring.
Delivered by the Engineering & Manufacturing Network( EMN), in partnership with Tees Business publishers Resolution Media and Publishing, EMCON has established itself as the region’ s leading exhibition and conference for the engineering and manufacturing sector, bringing together businesses from across the UK to strengthen supply chains, create new opportunities and showcase innovation.
Now entering its 19th year, EMCON has grown into the north’ s largest crosssector engineering and manufacturing exhibition, regularly attracting more than 900 visitors and 120 exhibitors from across the industry.
The move to the Beacon of Light marks an exciting new chapter for the event, providing increased capacity, enhanced facilities and greater opportunities for exhibitors, delegates and sponsors to connect, collaborate and do business.
Situated alongside Sunderland AFC’ s Stadium of Light, the Beacon of Light is a state-of-the-art venue that combines modern exhibition, conference and event facilities with a strong community purpose.
Home to the Foundation of Light, Sunderland AFC’ s official charity, the landmark venue offers flexible exhibition space, conference suites and excellent transport links, making it an ideal setting for EMCON.
EMCON brings together SMEs, OEMs and Tier 1-3 manufacturers, creating a unique platform for businesses to demonstrate capabilities, highlight capacity, discover innovative solutions and forge valuable new relationships.

“ Our ambition for 2027 is to build on everything that has made the event such a success while introducing new features, more networking opportunities and an even stronger programme of content.” The Engineering & Manufacturing Network has spent almost two decades supporting the sector by connecting businesses, encouraging collaboration and helping manufacturers access new markets and opportunities.
In addition to a major exhibition featuring companies from across the engineering and manufacturing supply chain, organisers are planning an expanded programme of seminars, speakers, industry discussions and networking opportunities.
The event will continue to focus on the key challenges and opportunities facing the sector, including innovation, digital transformation, skills, sustainability, productivity and supply chain resilience.
