THIS IS TEES VALLEY
Delegates attending the launch event for This Is Tees Valley at Teesside International Airport were asked to share their immediate reaction to the publication.
This is what they had to say …
Claire Preston, director, High Tide Foundation:“ What jumps out is some really strong, positive imagery. You’ ve got everything from countryside to industry, which is a brilliant mix of different aspects in our region.
“ I think if somebody down south picked up This Is Tees Valley – in Gatwick Airport, for example – it presents and projects the Tees Valley in a very different light to what is typically seen in the public eye.” In two words:“ Positive story.”
Alan Geddes, employer engagement officer, Middlesbrough College:“ When you flick inside from page to page, you are seeing some of the big hitters from Teesside – the Bill Scotts are in there and there’ s lots of companies that we work with over at Middlesbrough College.
“ I think if you are looking to speak with businesses across the Tees Valley, this is a fantastic publication because it gives you an opportunity to see those people before you make the call – it breaks the ice.” In two words:“ Typically Teesside.”
Julie Burniston, head of business development and communication, Southern Asset Management:“ My immediate reaction is that the cover is wonderful – it just really sums up Teesside.
“ It’ s got a wonderful cross-section of businesses and gives a really good overview of what we can refer to people not only here, but nationwide.” In two words:“ Pride and passion.”
Sam Norris, marketing executive, razorblue:“ It’ s representing everyone in a good way. Obviously, with the size of the magazine, there is a lot of information there, but it’ s laid out in a good way. I think it’ s digestible.” In two words:“ Premium and resourceful.”
Judith Alderson, corporate and commercial director, Dawson and Sanderson:“ It presents the Tees Valley in such a fantastic way. This is a place where businesses are going places and supporting each other and I think that is something the This Is Tees Valley magazine is so keen on promoting.” In two words:“ Eye-catching and engaging.”
Stuart Nicholls, marketing manager, Clive Owen:“ I’ ve worked in PR and marketing for the last 14 years, so I am well versed with Tees Business, and their magazine is always consistently very well designed and engaging.
“ And, looking through it, that still rings true. A lot of my former clients were featured in this and they get a lot of positive comments from the business community.” In two words:“ Professional and engaging.”
Thomas Peggs, financial adviser, Sage Wealth Management:“ I read every edition. There’ s always that something for everyone interested – not just myself – but my family have read it as well, so it doesn’ t just appeal to someone who is my age.
“ It captures different aspects of why you want to live and do business here.” In two words:“ Thought-provoking.”
Jon Hocker, founder, The eLearning Group:“ As a non-Teessider – who has been in the area for 18 months, still figuring it out – it does kind of pop. It shouts about the amazing businesses and projects that are happening. It does catch the eye.
“ It shows the transformation, innovation and adversity that Teesside has overcome and adapted to.” In two words:“ Inspiring positivity.”
