Parker Barras buoyed by Teesside market resilience
Reassuringly resilient – that’ s the Teesside market according to commercial property and business transfer agents Parker Barras.
After months of domestic and international turbulence, it would be fair to assume the uncertainty caused across all facets of life would have a detrimental effect on the commercial and business property markets.
But as he glances at the properties and businesses currently available, Parker Barras associate director Jack Taylor reports an encouragingly upbeat picture- from smaller deals to major multi-millionpound arrangements.
He told Tees Business:“ The geopolitical climate has been very uncertain but despite that, the Teesside market has proved very resilient.
“ There’ s been a dip in some markets but positive movement in others. For example, we’ ve been doing some large transactions- just in the past few weeks, we’ ve completed on a £ 4m facilities management business.
“ It’ s a local business that we advertised confidentially and achieved a national buyer to come and acquire that company, so it’ s something we’ re really proud of. We already had a connection with the buyer but we introduced the two, the buyer and the seller, and made the deal happen.”
Established by Jack’ s father John in 2014, after many years of property experience, Parker Barras remains a family affair, with several members involved.
It also has one of Teesside’ s most distinctive HQs- the quirky Qube building on Windward Way in Middlehaven, passed by thousands of Boro fans each home game as they make their way to the big match.
Jack says Parker Barras tends to focus predominantly on property in the North-East of England, but business sales nationwide.
