Eastgate Engineering scales up with bold plans, awards success and‘ one team’ ethos

If delegates at the WindEurope event in Madrid hadn’ t heard of Teesside before attending, many certainly know about it now. The reason? Eastgate Engineering boss David Brennan’ s mission to extol the virtues of the place his firm now calls its UK home.
Founded in Ireland but with a Teesside HQ since 2015, Eastgate is a remarkable success story – a powerhouse of a firm that began with a vision to make a difference in the world of engineering and construction services and which certainly seems to be fulfilling its pledge.
And it’ s a story that’ s become turbocharged in the past year, with three new offices, around 500 people on its books and ambitions to double turnover to £ 100m in the next four to five years.
Its rapid growth and“ one team” approach saw it win the coveted Tees Business of the Year title at the Tees Business Awards 2026.
And proudly clutching the impressive trophy at the Hardwick Hall event, CEO David admitted:“ This is something else.“ I’ m so honoured and privileged to represent the employees behind Eastgate
Engineering – they’ re the ones who have their shoulders behind the wheel, day in, day out.
“ I spent the last two day in, Madrid at the WindEurope event and all I spoke about was Teesside. Teesside is such a unique place with a unique set of industries.
“ We’ re honoured to be working here and to be a successful business employing locally and involved in local charities and organisations.”
Among those charities is Teesside Hospice, which recently received more than £ 2,000 from the inaugural Eastgate in Bloom event, where more than 60 women from across the engineering, energy, manufacturing and business sectors marked International Women’ s Week with a day of connection, empowerment and fundraising at Bloom in Middlesbrough.
Organised by Eastgate marketing executive Abbie King, it featured inspiring guest speakers, networking, a charity raffle and a range of wellness experiences.
