High-flyer – Eagle Chauffeuring CEO Babar Malik outside Thornaby Town Hall
THE EAGLE HAS LANDED
High-class chauffeuring firm set to fly high
WORDS: DAVE ROBSON
It was a fledgling driving firm just nine months ago- but already, Eagle Chauffeuring is ready to spread its wings. In August 2025, Babar Malik decided to revive the popular Eagle Taxis brand established in Thornaby over many years by his father Mohammed- only this time, concentrating purely on the premium market.
Eagle Chauffeuring was the result- but Babar admits even he’ s been surprised by how well things have gone so far.
With a fleet of premium cars at his disposal- even including a Mercedes Benz V Class Land Jet- the quality of ride is assured.
And having spent the past nine months successfully establishing his firm, Eagle is now ready to fly to the next level.
That includes a concerted emailing campaign to ensure as many firms as possible across the North-East are aware of Eagle Chauffeuring.
And as we sit in one of his plush vehicles outside Thornaby Town Hall, where Eagle has its Teesside base, Babar said:“ It’ s been an unbelievable first nine months- I’ m shocked at how much we’ ve been able to achieve.
“ I was optimistic anyway but we’ ve done even better than I thought we might. That just shows the quality of the service we provide- and now we’ re looking to get even more businesses on board.
“ I’ ll be e-mailing them and hopefully making appointments with the right people.
“ After all, most successful, big businesses have clients coming over and we want to be the ones picking up and servicing those clients.”
Dad-of-two Babar, 35, freely admits the high-class business market is his main focus- although he’ s willing to relax a bit too.
He explained:“ This weekend, we’ re doing the Top Influencer Awards in Newcastle, which is fun. That sector has really taken off, so it’ s nice to do that sort of thing from time to time.
“ But it’ s the white collar stuff that we specialise in. Where you’ re sitting now, in three hours’ time, a guy is going to be sitting there who’ s worth £ 350m- and we will make sure he gets a premium experience.”
Although based in Thornaby, Eagle Chauffeuring covers the whole of the North-East, with its Newcastle operation having expanded significantly in recent months due to its high service levels and fair pricing structure.
It now has 12 drivers working full-time on Teesside, but with plenty more available when Newcastle and collaborations with other chauffeuring firms are added to the mix.
Babar said:“ We really are starting to fly. People see us at an airport, a train station, at an awards ceremony, and think,‘ These guys only set up nine months ago- they’ re everywhere!’”
But one thing that isn’ t negotiable, says Babar, is the quality of service offered.
He said:“ For any client using us to pick someone up, we’ re your first image- we’ re their first impression of you and first impressions count.
“ We’ re bringing them to you and taking them away, but what we do helps to seal the deal. If we don’ t do it right- if that first impression isn’ t a good one- your deal might be on the line. That’ s why we take such pride in doing it right every time.”
His father Mohammed, says Babar, is“ buzzing” that the revived Eagle name he began is doing so well.
Now the Eagle has landed, says Babar, it’ s time for it to really spread its wings by moving onto the next stage- consolidating his firm as the premium choice for local businesses that want to get people from A to B in an executive way.
Babar said:“ Now we’ re properly established, I really want to go at it and put myself out there.
“ We’ re fully insured and fully licenced with the correct authorities- everything is above board and of the highest quality.
“ I just want anyone who really values their business to go with me and my cars because they’ ll get service that can really make a difference.”
