BT Openreach have confirmed that 2026 marks the final phase in the retirement of analogue( PSTN) and ISDN lines, with all copper-based services switching off by January 2027. To avoid disruption, every business must move to VoIP and digital broadband.

• Phones line using analogue or ISDN technology for incoming or outgoing calls will stop working in January 2027.

• Equipment such as security alarms, lift lines, payment terminals( PDQ) or till systems that connect through an analogue phone line or legacy broadband will no longer operate from January 2027.
