MARTIN WALKER, EXECUTIVE EDITOR Tees Business was Martin’ s fault. It was his idea and he now co-owns the magazine’ s company, Resolution. Martin started out with the Gazette, and worked at Middlesbrough FC and Sunderland AFC. He also runs his own PR business, which publishes Aycliffe Business. MICHAEL MCGEARY, EDITOR AND FEATURE WRITER Michael worked alongside Tees Business owners Dave Allan and Martin Walker in Boro’ s media department. He now runs a PR and ghostwriting business. First job: Committees clerical assistant, Teesside University E: info @ mcgearymedia. co. uk
SHANE HOPSON, BUSINESS ADMIN APPRENTICE Born and raised on Teesside, former Teesside University student Shane is the second apprentice at Tees Business, having switched from working in customer service to his admin apprenticeship, which includes day release at Middlesbrough College. DAVE ALLAN, EXECUTIVE EDITOR Dave has spent his career in PR and communications, initially with ICI before 17 years at Middlesbrough FC, working alongside Steve McClaren, Gareth Southgate and Tony Mowbray. SARAH WALKER, FEATURE WRITER Sarah started as a feature writer in Scotland before moving back to Teesside, covering business, news and health for the Gazette. PHILIP TALLENTIRE, FEATURE WRITER Philip worked for GlaxoSmithKline before moving into journalism. A 25-year media career included a spell at the Northern Echo, six years as the Gazette’ s sports editor and a decade as the paper’ s Boro correspondent. PETER BARRON MBE, FEATURE WRITER Peter’ s 40-year career includes being the longestserving editor in the Northern Echo’ s history. A former UK Columnist of the Year and North-East Journalist of the Year, he received an MBE for services to journalism.
