WINNER
Elite Energy Eco Stockton
Increased turnover from £ 4,800,000 to £ 12,200,000- 150 % A passion for helping people stay warm helped fuel Elite Energy Eco’ s remarkable rise in turnover.
What began as a plumbing business has transformed into a multi-millionpounds renewable energy specialist.
Elite works mainly in the government-funded sector to help low-income and vulnerable households get energy efficiency measures fitted to their homes.
The Stockton-based firm had five in-house members of staff 15 months ago – it now has 72.
Marketing manager Chris McIntosh told Tees Business:“ The passion of the team is the biggest thing. When you’ re working with people who are vulnerable or who have low incomes and are struggling to pay the bills, the ability to be able to help them reduce those bills is so important – our strapline‘ Save energy, stay warm, save money’ sums up what we do.
“ We want people to be able to live in their homes without having to put on multiple layers or having to choose between bills and food.”
Chris said the company ethos comes from founders and co-owners Robert and Kayleigh Shaw, who built Elite up from a Darlington plumbing business to become a nationally recognised eco energy firm.
And he points out the fact Elite is trusted to utilise those government grants confirms they do a good job.
“ We help customers access those grants and add the measures to their homes – so, things like solar panels, air source heat pumps, insulation measures. It’ s all about trying to help them save money on their energy bills as well as making their homes warmer.”
