Rallying call from Teesside Hospice’ s new corporate partnerships manager
As it aims to reach evergrowing demand for its services, Teesside Hospice has appointed a corporate partnerships manager to further develop its relationships with local businesses.
Hassan Hameed has joined the Middlesbrough-based charity to nurture relationships with existing corporate partners and supporters, build a pipeline for new supporters and develop a strategy to align with the hospice’ s mission to help people of Teesside live as well as possible for as long as possible.
“ I’ m looking forward to working with our amazing supporters, who share our vision to provide better end-of-life care to the people of Teesside,” says Hassan.“ I’ m also looking forward to connecting with new businesses and fundraisers so we can make a real difference together.
“ I have a personal connection to the hospice as some of my family members have used the services, so I have a lot of respect and admiration for what the teams do here.”
Over the last year, Teesside Hospice has seen a huge increase in demand for its services and currently supports around 4,000 people across the Tees Valley.
Across its In-Patient Unit, Wellbeing Centre, Bereavement Counselling Service and Lymphoedema Clinic, the hospice team works with patients and their loved ones to ensure they have access to the very best care and can live as well as possible, for as long as possible.
But these services cost around £ 6.75m annually to run, with less than 30 % of this cost coming through statutory funding – meaning the charity relies on the generosity of supporters to keep its doors open.
Hassan continues:“ Every contribution means more than words can express. We really couldn’ t operate without the support of the community.
“ A huge part of this is corporate support, with local businesses and organisations making a massive impact.
“ With the need for our services rising, so does our need for corporate supporters, and so we’ re looking to build new partnerships to help us grow our services and meet this demand.
“ There are lots of ways to become involved with corporate support, including financial contributions, sponsoring and attending events, volunteering with your team, or holding your own events in aid of the hospice.
“ We have some really exciting events coming up over the next few months, which I’ d love to invite people and businesses of Teesside to join us at.”
Forthcoming events include: > From Teesside With Love Ball, March 28: the hospice’ s annual ball, held at Middlesbrough Football Club – dig out your cocktail dresses and tuxes for a 007-themed soiree.
> Italian Job Rally, June 23-28: Enjoy an adventure to Lake Como and back in aid of Teesside Hospice.
> Annual Golf Day, September 11: Swing into action and make a difference with a fantastic day at Eaglescliffe Golf Club. Hassan adds:“ Thank you to everyone who has already shown their support for Teesside Hospice. I’ m looking forward to getting to know our current partners and meeting new ones across the region.”
