‘ Exciting’ future for Robson Laidler following acquisition

WORDS: SARAH DALE

The new strengthened team at Robson Laidler is settling in across its three offices in Teesside, Newcastle and Durham following its acquisition of Tindle’ s Chartered Accountants earlier this year.

Award-winning accountancy and business advisory firm Robson Laidler is going from strength to strength since its acquisition earlier this year in an undisclosed deal.
It was the largest acquisition Robson Laidler has made since forming more than a century ago and means the new £ 9m group has grown its team to more than 130 – and they are actively recruiting for more roles to further grow and strengthen their offering.
Robson Laidler, which was recently listed as one of the UK’ s Best Places to Work by the Sunday Times, provides accountancy, business and wealth advice

and works with business owners in all kinds of industries, but has particular expertise in healthcare, property and construction, charities / not for profit, agriculture, legal and professional services.
It has offices in Jesmond and Chester-le- Street, and thanks to the deal with Tindle’ s Chartered Accountants, based in Stocktonon-Tees, it now has a Teesside office too. The Teesside team will relocate to a larger office within their existing premises at Medway House in the first quarter of next year, and work is underway to harmonise the branding across all three sites. Rob Tindle, who founded Tindle’ s 25 years ago, will remain involved to support the transition.
Nick Wilson, co-managing director of Robson Laidler, said:“ We have more people, more knowledge and more opportunities to provide the best possible advice and provide more services to help clients’ businesses even more.
“ I’ m really proud of that. By expanding to different locations, but retaining our presence in the North-East for now, it means we can make a bigger impact for more people – our staff, our clients and the wider community. We are really excited to see what the future brings.”
Every member of the Tindle’ s team has continued with the business. Furthermore, the team has successfully retained a staff member who had been set to leave Tindle’ s because of a relocation but is now joining the Jesmond office. Amy Park, co-managing director of Robson Laidler, said:“ We are working hard to make the transition as smooth as possible, particularly for the staff based in Teesside, as it will feel like a big
change for them.”
Angela Foster, former partner of Tindle’ s and a director and shareholder at Robson Laidler, added:“ The future is really exciting. We were drawn to Robson Laidler due to its independent ownership and values. Our team here at Tindle’ s is exceptional and highly capable. Ensuring we were able to keep such a strong team together was also a key consideration in partnering with Robson Laidler.”
The move will push Robson Laidler into the top 100 accountancy companies in the UK, according to Accountancy Age.
Retaining its independence and local feel is important to the new group and the team is committed to ensuring clients continue to benefit from a personal service.
Amy added:“ We provide a personal service. We care and we listen to clients’ aims and issues. It’ s about that human interaction with a client, that personal service. People can access information online and our expertise is a given, but it’ s about building that trust and relationships and being a partner for their business, providing invaluable advice.”
Robson Laidler has a range of opportunities available, from training roles to positions for qualified professionals. They are keen to hear from anyone interested in joining one of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work, including tax consultants, business support administrators and senior audit staff.
