Meldrum Construction recently transformed Jesmond House at Victoria Avenue in Harrogate from a 1950s office building into a modern state-of-the-art mental health hub, now known as Hummingbird House.

The contractor worked closely with the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a high-quality refurbishment within a period of seven months, costing £ 2.1m.

Hummingbird House is fully tailored to the needs of patients and staff which will enhance the overall health experience in the area.
Steve Laughton, contracts manager at Meldrum, said:“ I’ m pleased to share that, after a great deal of hard work and careful management of the late-stage variations, we have successfully brought this project to completion.”
He also highlighted how much of a privilege it was to work with the trust to transform the old office building into a new modern mental health hub that is dedicated to supporting the mental health needs of all patients.
Steve added:“ This achievement would not have been possible without the collaboration and support of both
