GETTING INTO THE SPIRIT

For many people, the festive period is a time of reflection. Through the work of its Inclusion Resource Group( IRG), giving and reflecting is a consistent theme for CF Fertilisers
Contribution – the company has raised vital funds to support the work of the Billingham and Stockton Borough Foodbank.

Every year, CF Fertilisers commits to making financial donations and volunteering with a broad spectrum of local charities and causes to help make a positive difference and impact on the lives of beneficiaries.

Its support splits across four philanthropic pillars – local community advancement, healthy food access, environmental sustainability and STEM education – and continues the Billingham complex’ s long relationship with the local community, ingrained in its fabric since 1918, when it was founded.
The importance of being a good neighbour For more than a century, the Billingham complex has been a cornerstone of the chemical and process industry and a major local employer. While the industry has faced significant challenges since its peak, it remains resilient, continuing to provide skilled jobs and contributing to the local economy.
This resilience exists alongside real social and economic challenges. Research suggests that the Tees Valley has some of the highest rates of vulnerability to cost-of-living increases in the UK, with Middlesbrough ranking as the most vulnerable in the country. In addition, 18.5 % of the Tees Valley population lives in areas classed as“ left behind”, compared to just 4 %* nationally.
That’ s why playing its part and being a good neighbour, not just a good employer, matters to CF.
Fundraising with purpose CF takes great pride as an employer in its community and the sense of family that’ s felt across the site. This camaraderie means the Inclusion Resource Group( IRG) can inspire and galvanise colleagues to get involved with charity fundraising initiatives. The MFC Foundation charity football match and the IRG’ s Special Challenge are two notable examples.
