Engagement – AV Dawson supports every stage of the careers journey by welcoming young people into the workplace and visiting classrooms and lecture theatres to inspire future talent.

AV Dawson’ s giving is as personal as it is purposeful.”

Volunteering – as well as donating money, AV Dawson also offers staff paid leave to help out in the community.
and it also enables colleagues from across the business to get to know each other better.
“ Many choose to spend their volunteering day supporting initiatives like The Junction, where they’ ve helped pack school bags for disadvantaged children, or Teesside Hospice, where teams have rolled up their sleeves for gardening and grounds maintenance projects.
“ As a business, we feel that giving back our time is just as important as giving back in a monetary sense. Our colleagues feel a sense of achievement and have connected with a host of charities thanks to the volunteering days.
“ We also give back in a practical sense, in terms of offering health and safety advice, HR support and sharing best practice when it comes to operations.”
Since 2021, the business has operated the Maurice Dawson Fund, a colleagueled initiative that allows employees to nominate charities or community groups for quarterly funding rounds.
Named after the late Maurice Dawson, Gary Dawson’ s father, up to £ 1,000 per quarter is awarded to community and charity groups nominated by colleagues. This allows the team to support causes close to their hearts, ensuring AV Dawson’ s giving is as personal as it is purposeful.
This culture of giving is not just encouraged, it’ s celebrated. AV Dawson believes that when colleagues are encouraged to contribute to their communities, everyone benefits. Their efforts are a testament to what can be achieved when business and community come together with purpose and heart.
The AV Dawson impact is clear: it’ s about creating lasting value for colleagues, customers, communities and the region.
