How JPS is delivering on major UK infrastructure projects
Showcasing success
For nearly a decade, Johnson Procurement Solutions( JPS) has been quietly supporting some of the UK’ s most complex and high-value infrastructure projects. Now, the North-East-based procurement and commercial consultancy is highlighting just a few of the standout contracts that showcase its hands-on expertise- from energy transition projects to major engineering developments.
JPS provides end-to-end procurement and commercial services, including concept design support, contract strategy development, equipment package procurement, live commercial management and final project completion.
Here’ s a closer look at four major projects they’ ve recently supported:
Teesside Gas & Liquids Processing( TGLP) – 2025 Outage JPS was awarded the commercial support contract for the 2025 Outage project at Teesside Gas & Liquids Processing( TGLP)- a key regional project with an approved £ 4m budget.
The firm’ s remit spans front-end budget development, cost control, quantity surveying and forecasting. Working directly with the TGLP senior management team, JPS also provides monthly commercial updates at steering group meetings, helping to ensure that the project stays aligned and on track.
Reputation – JPS has a track record of work on major projects throughout the country that speaks for itself.
66kV Infrastructure Project – px Engineering, TGPP at Seal Sands At the Teesside Gas Processing Plant( TGPP), px Engineering delivered a £ 16m, 24-month infrastructure upgrade to introduce a new 66kV power system. JPS was brought on board by px Engineering to lead procurement and commercial services throughout the project lifecycle.
JPS developed the main contract documentation under NEC3 Option A, shaped the procurement strategy, and managed tender processes for all critical packages- from equipment supply to contractor appointments. The firm’ s role extended to daily procurement scheduling, supplier negotiations and weekly reporting to senior project leaders.
Post-contract, JPS also handled commercial oversight, managing contractor payments, final accounts and financial forecasting right through to project completion.
Liverpool Bay Transportation & Storage( T & S) – HyNet Northwest A major milestone in the UK’ s net zero mission, the Liverpool Bay T & S Project is part of HyNet Northwest- one of the most advanced carbon capture and storage( CCS) clusters in the country.
JPS was awarded a contract by United Living Infrastructure Services to provide procurement and expediting services for this critical phase. Since late 2024, the firm has supported early supply chain engagement through the prequalification process and is now leading the procurement strategy and vendor selection as the project moves into delivery.
Managing director Steven Johnson said:“ JPS is extremely proud to be part of this project. Our team has worked closely with United Living Infrastructure since the early stages, and we look forward to continuing our role in delivering this essential step towards net zero.”
WSP – High Protein Feed Plant Project At a bioethanol manufacturing facility on Teesside, JPS supported WSP in delivering a new High Protein Feed Plant as part of an EPCM( Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) project.
With a technology provider supplying key equipment and WSP overseeing the rest of the detailed design and delivery, JPS led all procurement activities. This included shaping the procurement strategy, vendor engagement and pre-qualification, managing all capital equipment orders, installation contracts and liaising closely with WSP’ s engineering team.
Throughout the project, JPS ensured procurement remained on schedule and within budget, while mitigating commercial risks at every stage.
Delivering impact behind the scenes From renewable energy infrastructure to complex plant upgrades, JPS continues to demonstrate how expert procurement and commercial support can drive project success- on time, within budget and with strategic oversight every step of the way.
With a track record that speaks for itself, Johnson Procurement Solutions is proving that smart, focused procurement isn’ t just a back-office function- it’ s a crucial component of high-performing project delivery.
