INSPIRATEES 2025 Celebrating the Tees region’ s most inspiring businesspeople
I
’ m delighted to write the foreword for this autumn 2025 issue of Tees Business – the 43rd edition of a magazine that has become such an important part of our business community.
This year is a milestone one for us at UKSE as we celebrate our 50th anniversary.
Since 1975, we’ ve been dedicated to supporting ambitious businesses and strengthening communities across traditional steel areas like Teesside.
Over the last half-century, we’ ve invested tens of millions of pounds locally, helping start-ups get off the ground, providing growth capital for established firms and backing projects that bring people together and create opportunities.
That support takes different forms – from debt finance to meeting working capital needs, to equity finance for those with the ambition and potential to scale quickly or to support a change of ownership through corporate acquisition, management buyouts or buy-ins.
We’ re here to provide the flexible backing businesses need to grow, employ more people and build stronger futures.
Growth is something to celebrate – it creates jobs, inspires others and shows the dynamism and resilience of Teesside.
That’ s why we’ re so pleased to sponsor VelociTees, an awards event from Tees Business that shines a spotlight on our region’ s fastestgrowing companies.
It also feels fitting that, while UKSE marks 50 years, Tees Business is celebrating its own milestone – its 10th anniversary.
Over a decade, this magazine has become the voice of local business, telling the stories that need to be heard and connecting us all.
So it’ s with real pride that I introduce this 43rd issue, which features fantastic coverage of the InspiraTees 2025 event held at Hardwick Hall this summer, celebrating the Tees region’ s most inspiring businesspeople.
As usual, this edition is packed with inspirational stories of ambition, innovation and determination, all Talking Up Teesside.
