Sustainable heating made local

Energy solutions of the future are being delivered now by thriving mechanical and electrical services firm Energe.

Stokesley-based Energe’ s team of skilled engineers and technicians specialise in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety and efficiency for every project.
By embracing cutting-edge technology and best practices, Energe aims to deliver solutions that meet current demands but are also future-ready, supporting a smarter, greener and more connected world.
And thanks to a tie-in with Newton Aycliffe firm Ebac, installation of the stateof-the-art air source heat pump( pictured above) will ensure a disabled Redcar and Cleveland resident enjoys an efficient and eco-friendly heating system when he moves into his Grangetown home, on behalf of Redcar and Cleveland Council.
Now in its third year, Energe is the brainchild of Chris Haver and Lewis Wood, who first met five years ago at the Anglo- American mine project near Whitby.
With their complementary mechanical and electrical skills, they decided to set up their own firm and Energe – pronounced En-urge – was the result.
Energe provide:
> Electrical services, including wiring and installations, electrical maintenance and repairs and lighting solutions.
> Mechanical services, including HVAC systems, plumbing and pipework. > Renewable energy solutions, including heat pumps, solar panel installation and energy audits.
> Automation and control, including building management systems, security and fire safety. With renewable energy all the rage, and Energe eager to stress its sustainability credentials, mechanical director Lewis says that teaming up with such a respected local firm as Ebac for the Redcar and Cleveland Council project ticked all the eco boxes.
He said:“ With Ebac being in Newton Aycliffe and us in Stokesley, and with Redcar and Cleveland Council the client, from fruition of order to completion of order, everything has been manufactured and installed within a 50-mile radius.
“ So, if you really want to bang the drum of eco-efficiency, you can’ t get more economical than getting it delivered and installed by local suppliers for a Teesside council.”
While Chris is based in Goole, East Yorkshire, and Lewis hails from near Stokesley, they cover a wide geographical base within their own sectors, thus broadening their exposure whilst staying conscious of their carbon footprint.
With its 12-strong workforce largely based on Teesside, it means commute times are reduced and work’ s kept local. By working collaboratively, they’ re serving the community and supporting the UK economy.
And thanks to a recently completed targeted growth strategy – especially in the renewables sector – Energe are proud to be contributing to sustainable practices with

Ebac’ s high-end appliances. A large contract with a nationally recognised company to install 150 heat pumps was recently completed and now, thanks to the collaboration with Ebac, it’ s hoped similar projects will follow.
Ebac’ s heat pumps are carbon efficient, whisper-quiet, tailored to UK climates, designed and manufactured in Britain, have a seven-year warranty and are four times more efficient than a conventional gas boiler.
And with government grants of up to £ 7,500 available, it’ s little wonder the heat pump market in general is really hotting up.
Lewis said:“ We’ re looking to expand further so, hopefully, we can build on our relationship with Ebac, who are big advocates of local businesses. It’ s local jobs for local people too – all those secondary positives that go with it.
“ There’ s certainly a growing heat pump market, with plenty of grants around. A couple of years ago, to get a heat pump was maybe a bit of a luxury but now it’ s much more affordable and it’ s a market we really want to make our mark in.”
So with more accessibility and a government grant to help support costs, locals can rely on Ebac for a sleek highquality heat pump and Energe for its seamless install into their homes. That’ s sustainability made affordable!
