Middlesbrough-based Lionweld Kennedy, a leading UK manufacturer of steel grating and access solutions, has announced the launch of its latest innovation – the LionGrip fixing.
Designed to address the specific challenges of environments exposed to high levels of vibration, LionGrip offers a secure, durable and user-friendly solution for fixing steel gratings.
LionGrip is a frictional fixing and has been strength tested for vibration resistance.
Unlike traditional fixings that may loosen over time, LionGrip maintains a tight, secure hold, delivering improved reliability in demanding industrial settings.
The frictional clamp design means no drilling into steelwork is required, preserving the integrity of anti-corrosion coatings on the supporting steelwork and reducing the need for touch-up and repair.
Another standout feature of LionGrip is its universal compatibility. The fixing clip has been engineered to suit all Lionweld steel gratings, eliminating the need for multiple types of clips and simplifying inventory management for installers and procurement teams.
Furthermore, LionGrip has been designed to be fixed from above, significantly improving installation efficiency and safety by reducing the reliance on access platforms or scissor lifts.
During the year it has taken to develop LionGrip the design underwent rigorous testing to ensure performance and durability. The result is a fixing clip that is three times stronger than its predecessor.
This increased strength is thanks to the use of a cast bottom component, replacing the previously used folded steel. This enhances the structural integrity and longevity of the fixing.
