An award-winning businesswoman is set to share her vast sales knowledge , as well as inviting marketing and PR professionals to reveal some of their top tips and tricks , at a special sales summit in July .

Cheryl Spears , owner of Spearheads and current holder of the Tees Businesswomen Awards Best Newcomer title and Best New Sole Trader from November ’ s Best New Tees Business Awards , is putting on the event at Hardwick Hall on July 9 – with early bird tickets now available .
Cheryl is motivated to help other businesses with their sales and marketing , believing it is one of the toughest areas of being your own boss – and something which is still feared and dreaded by many an entrepreneur .
However , having built up a career as a sales professional over many years before taking the leap into running her own sales support business , she strongly believes it needn ’ t be like that .
Cheryl , who specialises in “ no-nonsense ” and “ straight to the point ” sales support and training , says : “ I believe that people involved in sales , especially business-tobusiness sales , are basically helping other professionals to overcome their pain points .
“ If everybody viewed their business as offering expertise which helps another business to function better in a specific area , then they would find it easier to sell that expertise .
“ However , even when a business is fully confident and assured about the help and support they can provide , when it comes to sales , a lot of businesses are too shy or modest to reach out to the businesses they think they could help and want to work with – and that ’ s where I come in .”
While Cheryl is happy to provide sales support on behalf of companies who find it difficult or lack the time to pitch for new work , she is also surprisingly keen to share her vast experience with other businesses to encourage them to develop their own successful sales techniques .
That is why Cheryl , who is also celebrating her first full year in business after having to take time out right at the start of her decision to go it alone when one of her twin girls ’ pacemaker failed , has come up with the summer sales summit event .
Cheryl is on the lookout for a headline sponsor for the summit and is open to collaborating with other sales and marketing professionals .
Other sponsorship opportunities for the day are also available – and Cheryl wants to hear from any professionals interested in getting involved who can demonstrate how their business could enhance the event .
The day , to be held at Hardwick Hall
Hotel , will include a networking breakfast and two-course buffet lunch , as well as speakers from the world of sales , marketing and PR , workshops and panels discussing issues such as how to get the best out of social media and networking .
There are also opportunities to take an exhibition stand .
Cheryl , who has 18,000 connections in her LinkedIn network , where she will be promoting the event and its sponsors , says : “ It will be the first event in the area that I am aware of with where delegates will walk away with a notebook crammed with new ideas around sales and marketing for their business .
“ I strongly believe in businesses in the Teesside area helping each other out , sharing ideas and collaborating - and that ’ s why I have come up with this event .”
Delegates at the event will also receive a goodie bag , which businesses can contact Cheryl about having their branded merchandise such as pens and notebooks inside .
Early bird tickets for the full-day event are available for £ 70 , with prices then going up to £ 90 . Both prices are inclusive of VAT .
