Plush – Rudby Hall has 13 bedrooms including suites , large double rooms plus a two-bedroom cottage and garden house .

As far as reviews go , “ treated like royalty ” takes some beating . Yet that ’ s exactly what one very satisfied guest wrote following a recent stay at beautiful Rudby Hall .

Co-directors Mark Booth and Susan Chomo only took the keys to the magnificent 19th century stately home in December , so to achieve such glowing recognition so quickly is a tribute to both their bold vision and their generous hospitality .
The husband-and-wife team are incredibly passionate about Rudby Hall and are committed to offering their guests a unique experience both inside the luxurious hotel and outside thanks to the sumptuous grounds .
“ We want people to come to this wonderful area and to be pampered in what is a former royal residence ,” explains Mark .
“ It ’ s about bringing people here who want to enjoy a mixture of history , serenity , peace , seclusion and pampering .”
Doesn ’ t that sound like the perfect way to escape the pressures of modern living ? Mark and Susan certainly hope so .
Rudby Hall is located in stunning North Yorkshire countryside midway between Stokesley and Hutton Rudby in the tiny hamlet of Skutterskelfe .
In fact , it was for many years known by the tongue-twisting name Skutterskelfe Hall !
Designed by noted architect Anthony Salvin , the hall is surrounded by gorgeous gardens originally planned by Lancelot ‘ Capability ’ Brown and it still retains many Georgian and Regency features .
It was built in 1838 for the daughter of King William IV and is a Grade II * listed building .
The grounds even feature a listed garden wall and an impressive ( privately owned ) early electric-generating pumphouse on the River Leven .
Rudby Hall is Mark and Susan ’ s first hotel
