GREEN LIGHT FOR TEESWORKS OFFICES Plans for new office and commercial space at the Teesworks site have been approved .
Teesworks secured planning permission from Redcar & Cleveland Council to build 43 hybrid commercial units on the giant 4,500-acre site .
The units , which are intended for light industrial use , will be on land in South Bank near the giant SeAH Wind UK monopile factory currently being built .
New life – the 1888-built Kirklevington Hall , near Yarm , is to benefit from a seven-figure investment .
Historic hotel set for return to former glory
A
historic hotel is set to be returned to its former glory under ambitious plans from a highprofile property developer .
Chris Musgrave OBE , one of the main partners behind the giant Teesworks development on the south bank of the River Tees , has unveiled a multi-millionpound investment programme to restore and develop Kirklevington Hall , near Yarm .
The Hartlepool-born property developer bought the site in May 2023 after its sudden closure in March of that year .
The hall was originally constructed in 1888 and remained a private residence for decades , until being adapted as lodgings for circuit judges , and was then developed as the Judges Country House Hotel .
Mr Musgrave now intends to invest an eight-figure sum to restore the hall and develop it as a premium five-star luxury spa and boutique hotel destination .
He explained : “ This will make a lasting difference to the local economy with higher spending , longer staying visitors attracted to the new venue , on top of the investment we will be putting into the local supply chain , and the new local jobs that will be created at the hall .”
It is estimated that the investment and development programme will create up to 265 jobs both within the new hotel business and in the local supply chain .

ROCKLIFFE DINING PLAN APPROVED Planning approval has been granted for a purpose-built pavilion that will house a new flagship restaurant at Rockliffe Hall , to be led by the resort ’ s culinary director James Close .
The project also includes a second planning application to restore the hotel ’ s iconic Grade II listed Old Hall , preserving its historic charm while enhancing guest accommodations and experiences at the resort .

More than 100 jobs will be supported by the proposed development from battery energy storage system specialist Energy Optimisation Solutions ( EOS ).
If planning permission is granted by Redcar & Cleveland Council , a Battery Energy Storage System ( BESS ) will be built on a three-acre plot at the Long Acres section of the 2,500-acre Teesworks site on the south bank of the River Tees .
The £ 62m facility will enable up to 100 Megawatts ( MW ) of additional green energy to be plugged into the grid .
Over the course of a year , the EOS facility will help cut carbon emissions by 4,000 metric tons – the equivalent of driving a car

If planning permission is granted , it is anticipated that building the battery storage facility will take around 12 months in total and support more than 100 jobs in the construction sector .
